3 WAYS TO USE OUR NEW CREAM CONCEALER
Lily Lolo’s new vegan Cream Concealer is the product that you've been asking us to create for years and only six weeks post launch it bagged "BEST CONCEALER" at the Global Makeup Awards 2022. Here, makeup artist Jane Bradley, who created the looks for our Cream Concealer campaign shoot, explains how to use it to hide everything from dark circles and blemishes to scars and redness.
"This is a concealer for every type of skin day,” says Jane. “On good skin days simply apply the concealer in your shade under the eyes, on the eyelids, around the nostrils or anywhere which needs evening out and set with a light dusting of your favourite super sheer Lily Lolo powder and you’ll look flawlessly natural.”
“When you feel as if you need more coverage, apply over Lily Lolo Cream Foundation or under Mineral Foundation for a perfectly even canvas. I also like to use a lighter shade patted onto the high points of the cheeks and the brow bone for a believable highlighting effect without the shimmer, and the darker shades can be used to carve out and contour the face for a 3D effect.”
OUR TIPS ON HOW TO USE IT
1: HIDE DARK CIRCLES
“The super-creamy and nourishing formula make Cream Concealer perfect for the dry and delicate under-eye area,” says Jane. “Use your ring finger to apply the concealer into the inner corner of the eye, gently blending down towards the bridge of the nose, which instantly hides discolouration for a brighter, more wide-eyed and rested look. Tap any concealer left on the fingers into the lines at the outer corner of the eye – the natural plant oils in the formula mean it won’t settle into fine lines.”
2: CONCEAL BLEMISHES & PIGMENTATION
“It’s a myth that you should only use oil-free makeup on blemishes or acne-prone skin,” says Jane. “Certain oils, such as jojoba oil, which you’ll find in Cream Concealer, have anti-inflammatory properties and actually help with healing and soothing. If the blemish is red and angry-looking, use the Cream Concealer to build up coverage and set with Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation for longer-lasting coverage.
A creamy and nourishing formula also means that you can cover blemishes without flakiness. Apply the Cream Concealer directly onto a blemish with your finger or clean brush. Take a similar approach for pigmentation, building up coverage where needed.”
3: REDUCE REDNESS
“One of the things I love about this new formula is that it’s so easy to blend,” says Jane, ”which is great if you have skin that is easily sensitised and aggravated.” For smaller areas of redness, Jane suggests applying Lily Lolo Cream Concealer in a patting motion to build up coverage, before blending out for a seamless finish. “If you have redness over a larger area, try out Lily Lolo’s Pressed Corrector in ‘Pistachio’, which contains green-hued pigments that neutralise redness, from rosacea to blemishes and acne.
